"My husband was one of the first major performers of rock music. He began his music career by playing the piano at age 11, but soon turned to playing the electric guitar. It was not until a year before his death that he gained his fame when he and his band, the "Crickets" recorded "That'll Be the Day." His energetic style that combined the elements of country music with a strong background rhythm was very influential to many American and British rock performers. While many of his fans will relive his music, I will always remember him as the man I fell in love with many years ago." Maria Elena Holly
